Women with varying sized breasts are more susceptible to developing breast cancer so says recent research findings.
Researchers measured the disparity in breast size of 504 women and monitored those who remained healthy and those who got breast cancer.
There is a 50% higher risk of contracting the disease per each 100ml increase in breast disparity. The average female breast studied was approximately 500ml.
It is vital if you notice a difference in breast size to get them checked out by your doctor.
No sole factor should be singled out. The matter should not be seen in isolation as most women in fact have asymmetrical breasts.
Maria Leadbeater, a specialist from the charity Breast Cancer Care, stated that more research was necessary.
It is when you have breasts normally close in size and then you notice that they are getting asymetrical perfectly normal. However, if your breasts are normally close in size and you notice them becoming asymmetrical, then it is vital to get to your doctor.
The recent study conducted by scientists at Liverpool University was published in the journal Breast Cancer research.
