Well now a plastic surgeon and bottom expert, Constantino Mendieta, based in Miami has defined four distinct behinds.
You have the V-shape, narrow at the bottom and getting wider at the hips; the Square, slighter hips and not so enlarged buttocks; the Round, voluptuous and large bottom, last but not least the A-shape, the a pert bottom, wider at the base than at the top.
Ms Jennifer Lopez is of course a celebrity with the classic A-shaped bottom.
Apparently, the nicest bums are those that look like hearts upside down.
Yet women with round-shaped backsides, like Nigella Lawson ought not to be concerned.
Seemingly increasingly more women want a fuller bottom, and the most desirable A-shape can be attained through plastic surgery. In 2005, 2,000+ American women chose bottom implants to ensure pert bottoms and this trend is apparently growing in Britain.
